While using it I can more or less be outside if the humidity is above 90%. When the batteries die and turn off, I immediately get so sick from the heat that I have to move indoors somewhere that has air conditioning. What I regret is that the batteries don't last longer. One good thing about this fan is that it doesn't pull your hair between the blades. I have another one that I like because I can direct the fans to where I need them most, but every once in a while my hair gets tangled and it's pretty bad. Once I had to cut my hair to free it from the fan. So now I use this neck fan first, and when the battery dies when I'm still weak I use the other one with the fans open while I charge that one.
