I don't usually like hats that go over my ears and I tried to buy one. Either the manufacturer's measurements or mine are wrong. However, I am quite happy that the caps go down about an inch above each ear because I could use them as a mount for my pandemic mask. The skin behind the ears is too sensitive for the elastic, so I planned to sew a button on each side of the cap to attach the elastic. And the length of the hat, which goes past my ears, means the outside of my ears are protected from even the rubbing of the elastic as it passes them.
