Installed this toilet cistern lever on an American Standard Champion 4 MAX cistern. I mounted the lever mount with an additional adapter sleeve and tightened the plastic nut by hand. The lever mount turned out to be close to the tank wall I assembled and adjusted the lever, connected the damper circuit I assembled the case. I noticed a nearly 1/16 gap between the liner and the tank wall. Decided to live with it. Lever installed and tested. It turned out that everything was fine. About 10 minutes later, while I was cleaning the old lever and packing material, I heard a chime. Then I noticed a small puddle of water on the floor next to the heavy worker. Looking (horrified) at the tank I see a crack running from the top of the tank through the square mounting hole about 2/3 down. I bought this toilet new 2 years ago. So far it has worked without any problems. I hand tightened the nut on the lever mount. The contact area of the arm mount with the tank wall is slightly larger than the original arm. The front of the tank has a curve. It appears that this curvature when pinched between the arm mount and the plastic nut caused some stress that led to the crack. I'm not happy at all.
