A few years ago I had Maxiglide but I had to throw it away because of a short in the wiring. Over the past year, I've noticed an increase in hair damage from heat styling with other straighteners. I ended up ordering a new Maxiglide but was disappointed to find the blades were almost 2" wide (I've been using irons with 1" blades for years). Anyway, I've decided to give it a try rather than return it. I dried my hair 2c/3b and it turned into a frizzy mess! Enter Maxglide. I used 180 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the 400 to 425 degrees I'm used to. The powerful steam gave my hair the moisture it needed and after 3 days it is still smooth and silky looking healthy even at the ends. The only product I used was a heat protectant and an oil leave-in conditioner. My edges are smoother than ever since I've been able to get close to the scalp. I look forward to the next time I need to use it.
