This extension is well made and should last, but it doesn't do the job I bought it for! It doesn't charge my iPhone, although it does charge other USB devices just fine. I spent all day swapping out cables, adapter plugs, etc. experimenting to figure out why my phone wasn't charging, only to finally discover that this brand new cable just wasn't made for the iPhone. I thought it best to let you know. Use certified iPhone cables and adapters. They will say "made for the iPhone".
