Review on ECOGARD XA6149 Premium Engine Air Filter: Perfect Fit for Ford Focus & Escape Models 2012-2019 by Shawn Martin

I bought this filter then yesterday I went to change it and found that it doesn't fit. Too long to fit in the air filter canister. Read the customer reviews here last night and read the instructions written by some helpful customers. You MUST compress this filter before attempting to install it into the air cleaner housing. Once that's done it will fit in, but you will need to "cast" the air filter housing (it's a very malleable plastic) to match the shape of the filter and then tighten the 4 screws on the housing. This was the first time I tried replacing this filter on this machine. THANK YOU to all the very helpful people who took the time to give me advice. I would NEVER consider compressing the filter prior to installation.
