A few weeks ago I rolled my ankle and while I was working it kept getting stiff and slightly swollen. I figured some form of compression would be helpful and could be used during exercise. I have a male US 13M foot. I measured on XL. Definitely has some stretch. It worked well and was very comfortable. I felt the L could give more compression (medical grade) so I also ordered the set L. It's tight but for active sports or if I injure it again I would use the large. For everyday use at work I only wear XL. Good product. If you want an option for everyday use and comfort I would go for the size as indicated. If you want something tighter and offer more medical compression, consider downsizing.
