This is a replacement for another Peugeot salt mill which broke after years of daily maintenance in the kitchen and table. This is such an improvement! It's surprisingly quiet, handles a variety of salt types, from coarse grains to small pebbles (well, maybe not pebbles, but a lot coarser than average), and produces finely ground salt very quickly enough. My husband and I both love him. It's also slightly easier to refill and clean than its predecessor, and doesn't get fingerprints as often. Our favorite table salt is Himalayan pink salt, which has a nice mineral flavor but is a lot coarser than regular salt used for grinding. This grinder handles it flawlessly. This grinder is a bit pricey but worth every penny.
