I have to put on shoes when I get out of bed and walk at all, because plantar fasciitis messed up my feet so badly. While they are getting better, it’s still hard to walk without shoes, so if I need to get up for a few minutes, I tend to delay as long as I can because it’s very hard for me to put on shoes. I can’t even bend my knees enough to reach the shoes! Enter: Houndsbay Extra Long Metal Shoe Horn! This is the first long shoehorn that really works for me. I can get my shoes on without bending over at all! The metal is heavy duty; this shoehorn is not going to bend or deform when you try to use it, no matter how hard it is to get that shoe on your foot. I’e had several such devices which literally fell apart or bent to the point of uselessness, but not the Houndsbay. It’s SOLID. Plastic shoehorns are too thick. They take up the very room that makes it possible to get my shoes on. Houndsbay shoe horn is about 1/16” thick, and made of smooth polished steel. Excellent product. Shoes slide on with ease, the shoehorn slides out with ease, and never do I have to bend over to do it. This has really made it easier for me to use shoes when I have to. Of course, I prefer boots, but if I’m getting out of bed for 3 minutes, I don’t want to put on boots! This is the answer. And it’s a great answer!
