Arteza Does It Again!

I have been using various Arteza products for nearly 6 months now. So when I start getting into oil and acrylic painting, I immediately looked to see if they offered acrylic paper because it would be easier for me to store than buying more canvases. This paper is very thick and sturdy. It has just enough tooth to grip the paint but not too much that there will be a noticeable texture when you're finished. You can apply a coat of gesso if you wish but I suggest taping it down if you are applying more that one coat as it will begin to curl. It surprisingly takes a good amount of paint layers with very little buckling. I have not use watercolors on this paper yet but I will be testing it in the future and will update with a picture. Its price is budget friendly and unlike other acrylic paper brands, you get more than the standard 10 sheets. It's glue bound so it detaches very easily with no damage to the paper. My only complaint would be that I do wish they offered varying sizes. After I gesso, I cut it into 4 7x5.5 inch rectangles for my studies. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an alternative to buy canvases. I included 3 photos to show the tooth of the paper, it's glue bonding and an oil painting cloud study.

Pros
  • I used this paper as a gesso surface. Worked great
Cons
  • May affect the longevity of brushes due to the thickness of the paper
