I ordered a pair and they worked very well on 2 beach cruisers for my daughters. I ordered the small and used the included spacer. Make sure you measure since handlebar thicknesses can vary greatly between bikes and the location you wish to mount it (some handlebars are very tapered). The tone is great and loud. I can see where the thumb striker could be rough on your thumb if you use it a lot, but overall this is a very nice bell and can be mounted on either side. Some bells are right or left specific.
