Bad Design - Ceiling Fans and Accessories

I replaced a fan I installed 30 years ago. You might think that new technology would make installation easier, but think again. All was going well until it was time to install the fan blade mount to the engine. First you need to remove the bolts from the motor. they are short Then you need to put the screw through the bracket into the fan motor. They give you a blade wide slot for the strut to line up with the holes. The screws are too short and don't fit a magnetized Phillips screwdriver snugly. It's like the screws are driving the screws into the holes between the slots. A slight movement and the screw falls down. I'm on the verge of getting everything back and getting my money back. I think we pulled back, at least at Honeywell. Get a Hunter or Hampton Bay and it's easy to install.
