I've always used Samsung Syncmaster monitors (at least for the last 10 years) and this latest in the series doesn't disappoint. Big improvements include: - large bright display with excellent colors and depth; As usual, Syncmaster monitors always look great and just work - very flat screen: apart from the stand, the screen is less than 2.5cm thick and looks that good - vertically mounted inputs: video/power cables that run out to the side they don't protrude from under the monitor (problem with earlier models) - Cable management clip: Route all desktop cables (video, speakers, keyboard/mouse, etc.) through the plastic cable guide on the back so you never have to see them ( in fact, other models had this feature as well, but the difference here is the longer and thinner clamp to "align" the cables one by one and hold them tighter to the stand) The only thing I don't like about this new front panel -key model . They might look cool when they flow and are made out of a real plastic faceplate, but there are problems with that. First, it's impossible to tell which button is which in low light. Likewise, now it's not so easy to turn off the screen at night. Earlier models had a blue LED to turn on the power button, but on this model the power light is located NEXT to the power button. So when you're looking at the big, bright screen, you basically have to fumble for the power button. switch off. Finally, these buttons require more force to press than I think is necessary. This causes my screen to flex and twist just trying to press a button. Poor design, so I'm deducting a star. Overall a great display that looks cooler than the previous one. I like 1920 x 1200 resolution. I've never had pixel burn-in on a monitor. When they have problems, they take a long time (years) to show up and are worth repairing (I've had many Syncmasters repaired for a fraction of the original cost - in most cases it's a simple capacitor replacement). ). I would highly recommend this monitor - or any other Syncmaster model that suits your tastes better in terms of resolution, style etc.
