Lately I've been cataloging my media collection on Discogs and scanning barcodes for media that contains them, which saves a lot of time and effort in typing. Typically, a barcode is unique to a particular format and edition of a product. So if you scan the barcode in the search box it will take you straight to the page in Discogs where you can add it to your library. The Netum barcode scanner is exactly what I was looking for. for the scanner. The device has three uses. The easiest way is to use a USB cable that plugs into a desktop, Mac, or laptop. The next way to use the scanner is by using a USB dongle, which makes it wireless. This method has the greatest reach. Simply plug the dongle into an available USB port on your computer or device. The driver should load automatically. Simply pull the scanner's trigger and the barcode information is entered where it's needed. The Bluetooth method requires a few more steps, but allows you to use the barcode scanner with devices that don't have a USB port, such as B. an iPad or iPhone. To set up Bluetooth, you need to scan the code in the installation guide to put the scanner in pairing mode, the blue LED will flash. Activate the recognition mode on the other device and select NT Barcode Scanner. The indicator will be solid and beep after pairing. The scanner can only be paired with one device at a time. To charge your device, connect the included cable to a USB charger or a computer. The LED will turn red when charging and green when fully charged. The scanner will beep 2 times as a warning when it reaches 20% and 5 beeps when it is completely empty. The scanner comes with a stand for stationary use in a shop or just for storage, which requires a bit of assembly but may be useful to someone. I don't intend to use it. For most people, the scanner will be plug and play, but with the help of the manual, there are various settings that can be changed by scanning a barcode. The scanner works perfectly, reads all barcodes without problems. What I really like about the scanner is that when you pull the trigger, in addition to firing the laser and LED light, the scanning area also lights up. This means you can be in a completely dark room and still be able to scan! The scanner is designed to turn itself off after a minute of inactivity to save power. A short beep will sound to let you know. This will also turn off the Bluetooth connection when in this mode. Pressing the trigger reconnects it to Bluetooth. What I don't see is a continuous scan mode, in case that matters to you. I would never use that. I really like this scanner! It is compact, lightweight, easy to use and feels good in your hand. Oh, and one more thing, the stylus has a slot to store the USB stick when not in use so it doesn't get lost.
