I live about 20 miles from a small town with a few transmitters and can pick up a few channels with a simple window antenna. But I missed a lot, and I believed that the right setup could bring in channels from a much greater distance. I already have an old antenna on the tower, but it's not connected and it's too high. So I bought this one, and with a lot of trial and error it worked. Pointing it in the right direction is important, but there's an app called AntennaPoint that makes it easy. Reception improves significantly the higher it can be set, especially when there is a metal roof or other buildings in the signal path. I also added a channel master amplifier with 2 output ports, as every splitter and connection can cause signal loss. So I recommend this antenna, although I think almost any properly tuned model will work just as well. Think of the antenna as part of an OTA system and be prepared to add and customize as many as you need.
