I was flying to an outdoor wedding and needed to make sure my hats landed safely. It was a really good choice. I used air cushion padding on the bottom and top so they don't get crushed. I don't recommend checking this when you fly. It's strong, but you can feel it. That's not difficult. It cannot withstand the weight from above and if caught between objects, it will bend and the contents will be shattered. I currently use it to store hats in my closet. Be sure to pack it with pillows overnight to help it shape properly before use. I will definitely buy another one. My only complaint is the lack of size selection. I have big hats that don't fit.
