Really fits 2015 Toyota Tacoma. I installed a "Regular Jane" model on a 2011 Tacoma, so I had some prior knowledge to help install this PL5400 model. If you install exactly as per this information I believe you will find that this unit is better built than the OEM non-locking version, just be precise and careful when installing the unit. Using a cordless torx bit screwdriver, I removed the tailgate cover and then slowly replaced it and tightened it with a ratchet wrench and I was able to complete the entire installation in fifteen minutes. I don't have to pull this handle any harder than the OEM version, in fact it takes less effort to open the tailgate with the PL5400. I believe the "trick" to this feature is to carefully fold over an "open" wire as instructed and place it exactly as shown in the video. Gently slide the small colored plastic clips onto the wire and twist them until you can snap them onto the wire you just flipped, just like in the video. That way you'll find that this block is slightly superior to the OEM grip you're replacing in every way, especially in the locking action. When I installed it and before "programming" the key, I checked the lock as instructed BUT I also checked the rear view camera by rotating the truck backwards to see that it was the same as the OEM version. At this point I programmed the key by holding the key all the way in and doing this by turning the key clockwise about 190 degrees and hearing a click letting me know the key was set correctly. I then reattached the black inner tailgate cover with torx screws. I checked the locking, unlocking and opening of the trunk several times, everything is fine. I mainly contribute to longer and clearer instructions on the website and YouTube videos.
