This is poorly designed. Very hard to assemble; needs 2 people. Shelves are not adjustable. It is suitable for light shelf loads, but it is not strong.For those of you who have assembled a unit with plastic rings around the metal posts; they are easy to assemble. This unit is designed differently. The plastic stoppers are only insertable into holes where each vertical post section meets. The plastic rings do not stay in place requiring 2 people for assembly. One person holds shelf while second person holds plastic rings in place and then carefully lowers the one shelf corner to hold the rings in place Proceed to each of the other corners of the shelf. Tedious. Once the rings are in place they seem to hold OK. But the fact that holes are only at the junctions of the posts means the shelves cannot be placed at different elevations.I am keeping the unit as I have already assembled it and need it to be in place tomorrow. Also, my use is to hold yarn and crochet, so it does not need to be sturdy. My advice to shoppers is to avoid this unit and this design and get one with the posts that have rings every inch or so on the posts.
