I was trying to get the Elgato HD60 S capture device to work on my 2015 MacBook Pro. It uses a USB-C connector. I tried using a USB-A to USB-C cable that I bought online, but the software complained that it wasn't USB 3.0 connection acts. This device, along with the USB-C to USB-C cable, disassembled. Please note that these adapters provide USB 3.0 speeds in one connection direction only. The first time I tried to use the Elgato HD60 S with a new cable, I got the same message. Then I just flipped the USB-C connector (bottom up) and boiled on gas.
