Review on πŸ”’ Enhance Security with the Kensington Desk Mount Anchor Accessory for Cable Locks (K64613WW) by Ryan Gilliam

Does the job: forms a point of attachment

I bought two of these units to mount in workstations where there was no convenient place for a security cable loop. The product is a metal plate that attaches to a surface (more on this below) with a swivel through which a security lock can be threaded. The hinge also has a slot for a Kensington lock if you have a cable with a bracket that fits into the slot for the lock on both ends. The tablet comes in a gray plastic sleeve with a large Kensington logo. When you turn the swivel, you hear metallic clanking everywhere - not a safety issue, but more industrial and a bit rough. The metal plate is attached to the surface with tape and/or screws. The screws provided are unidirectional, meaning they can be screwed in, but the design of the head has a smooth surface (no flat edge) so the screwdriver can't be unscrewed. I attached the panel to a wall stud to be very secure. I found the included screws to be a bit short, so for added security I recommend purchasing additional longer unidirectional screws to go deeper into the wall stud. The bottom line is that they are doing their job. It could be better with longer screws and designed so that the swivel doesn't make any noise when moving. be very reliable.
