Very reliable mounts - computer accessories and peripherals

Attention - this mount is super adhesive. Once applied, it cannot be removed without damaging the surface to which it is adhered. I give 5 stars because it is exactly what I was looking for. I used several of these as iPad mounts at a public car show and had no problems despite hundreds of people using iPads. When the show was over we had to cut the cables and give up the anchors.

Does the job: makes an attachment point

I bought two of these to attach to workstations that don't have a suitable place for a hand strap. The product is a metal plate that attaches to a surface (more on this below) with a swivel through which the security lock can be threaded. The hinge also has a Kensington lock slot if you have a cable with a bracket that fits into the lock slot on both ends. The tablet comes in a gray plastic sleeve with a large Kensington logo. As you turn the swivel, you hear metallic clinking everywhere - notโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Annoying

Simply put, it works great

Used to enhance the security of a Kensington cable lock. I don't think an adhesive pad should replace the metal bolt security used to lock things with a Kensington cable lock, but it does hold it in place nicely when you install the screws. I will buy from this seller again if the opportunity arises in the near future.

  • Best
Cons
  • Hard to say

Good reliable connection point.

So I used duct tape to attach the anchor to the side panel of the steel cabinet under the desk. So far it's held up well on this surface (a couple of months at the time of writing this article). I briefly considered trying to attach it to the bottom of the desktop itself, but I had my doubts as to how long that connection would last. I haven't overdone it and I don't intend to. If you really need a solid connection, I suggest using the included screws (or some nuts and bolts) to attach it.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • No paint required

Good deterrent

I use glue and screws. Works great as a deterrent. Obviously any professional/trained thief can cut the cable or rip off the mount, but for most thieves who punch and grab this will be enough to hopefully piss them off enough to give up. I will also say that this appears to be a well made product. The metal feels solid, not cast iron that crumbles. Recommended as a deterrent.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Something wrong

The tape didn't stick, but the screws did fit.

I bought this for my work laptop. Overall it works as expected. However, I first tried using masking tape under the work surface and it didn't hold up securely. I'm not sure why, but when I used force on it like any thief would, it immediately retreated. I then attached it to the underside of my desk with screws. determined thief with a screwdriver or crowbar. I think the goal of stealing the computer was the hardest, but not impossible.

Pros
  • Securely attaches to any work surface (mount only, laptop lock sold separately).
Cons
  • boring packaging.

Not perfect but works well

I bought this product to secure my laptop to the table in my bedroom where I keep it. I couldn't use screws due to the material of the table so I just used glue. It's good and strong. Yes, I could probably take it off if I really wanted to, but if someone took the time and energy to remove the anchor I would definitely notice. The idea is to prevent someone from just walking away with my laptop when I turn around (or I'm in the bathroom). I'm not stupid enough to think the lock will be able toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Industrial grade mounting tape for situations where screw holes don't match
Cons
  • Not bad but...
