I added chemistry to a 6 year old battery which worked fine until I parked my car for 3 months and the battery died. I filled the battery with chemicals and started the car, but the battery didn't charge. I took it to the store and they tried to charge it. They told me that the battery holds some charge but doesn't charge fully, and while it may work for a while, it's no longer recommended to use. I was still trying to believe that it was only a matter of time before battery chemistry started to work. So I reinstalled in the car. worked a few days. then i left the car in the parking lot for three days and the battery died again. I stopped trying and bought a new one. Maybe I had to wait longer and keep charging the battery, but I needed a reliable car.
