Review on SAS Journey Performance Walking Sneakers by Ricardo Ware

I've been wearing the SAS Journey for a long time. I buy new ones every two years. I know this is at least the third set of two. I have them in black and white. They have been my favorite hiking shoes in the past and cost twice as much as other hiking shoes. The only ones that could compete with them were the old Rockport ProWalkers when the company was still another company (shoes were $125 in the 1980s). Although the two new pairs look almost identical to the old ones I bought two years ago, they narrowed the heel area by about 1/2 inch. I can't tell if the front of the shoe is different or not, but if you change the back it fits a little differently. The front of the shoe stretches more and is more difficult to measure accurately. I prefer the old, wider heel. I won't be returning them because they are still probably the best I've tried in terms of hiking shoes. I have Clarks that are pretty comfortable for other casual or work wear, but they're not that great for the gym and working out. I like that the company is still American and I'm not complaining about the price. Two of my favorite shoe stores (Shoe Box in Black Earth Wisconsin and Schuler Shoes in Minnesota) no longer sell them because of their low price, but they will order them. This is the first time I've bought them online. When I say they are a little small, they only appear to be smaller at the heel. I ordered size 9W - same as before.
