Our door handles are too big for this product (this is an exterior door). When I tried to install it, the case wouldn't snap into place. I didn't want to return it because our 15 month old kept opening the front door and I desperately needed something to stop that. So I modified the case by cutting off some plastic around the hole. This allowed me to wrap the doorknob just enough to cover one side and tape it around to make it work. I used glue at first but it was only after our four year old forgot to lift the safety latch and it popped out immediately but once we screwed it into the door it worked well enough to prevent the child from to escape. a door.
