We have 3 cats who love to roll around in the nursery and climb on all the furniture. This is the tallest gate I've found and 2 out of 3 cats didn't even try to jump over it! The third is now trained not to, having been removed from the room after several successful attempts. The gate was very easy to install and easy to open and close. My 2 year old is a big strong boy for his age. That's why we bought this child's gate, which has a great height (so that he doesn't climb over it). Unfortunately he still pulls and tugs at it a bit and when he does that the gate actually moves and just moves out of position a tiny bit. We have two of these gates and they are perfect for our needs. We have two Great Dane puppies and we got them not to let them in our room when we don't want them there and still see them in the living room. Love that you don't always have to use the red safety catch, we don't have kids so it's a lot easier when our dogs can't figure out how to push the handle up.
