I like them a lot better than a lot of other cheap Bio Balls I've seen. It is a hollow bowl with a small sponge inside each. After these bioballoons spent a week in the old aquarium, I took them out of the mesh bags and filled each box to the brim. Their internal shape and texture is really good for a wet-dry system as they disperse falling water well to avoid dead dry spots caused by water being directed elsewhere.
