Just enough cooler for my Acura MDX without stock cooler. I made some aluminum brackets so the cooler doesn't rest on top of the AC condenser. An aftermarket temperature sensor peaks at 65°C during heavy Florida traffic. If I had to do it again, I would choose 679 one size up just for a little extra insurance. The road temp gauge hit 82C, no towing, flat terrain, and of course, air conditioning on. it's 180F and within 10 degrees F of most transmission oil limits. For the next vehicle I will definitely increase this cooler or maybe add a fan. Update 2: September 26, 2017 "9" added "Electric Radiator Cooling Fan, 12V Adjustable Thermostat Control Kit" before hauling a 2500 mile round trip from Florida via OH and back via GA for a week. First, the 9 inch fan is too big for this cooler. Suggest 6-7 inches. The thermostat kit was set at 60°C/140°F using my aftermarket digital temp sensor on the transmission output line BEFORE the radiator. Towing a single axle open trailer with a UTV on it totaling 2,000 pounds. Later that day, 80F was stuck outside behind a tractor trailer at 40 mph, up a steep 1 mile hill, on a dual carriageway. The maximum transmission temperature is 101C/213F. Most believe that this exceeds the maximum transmission oil temperature and requires a full oil change. Test version 679. This cool box is not quite suitable for summer towing in hilly terrain even with a fan. where I was pleased and still hear the extra fan turning on from time to time.
