Some like things that run on batteries. I would prefer a cord because it drains the batteries quickly. Requires 3 AA batteries. The setup is not as convenient as I had hoped. Definitely not easy enough for my kid to use as an alarm clock. It has multiple sounds to choose from to wake up which is helpful and the stars on the ceiling are beautiful. But the manufacturer really needs to work on making it more user-friendly since it's designed for kids. For example, adjust the alarm time, turn it off and make the delay function less confusing. So if you are looking for a cheap light up toy,
