Assembly issues and broken switch

This is my re-evaluation based on the second item the company sent me free of charge believing my first item was defective. (Original review below.) I didn't want to return the second or first item. After all, everyone gets what they pay for and that was a cheap lamp. Once the switch can be turned on, the lamp becomes useful, although I have yet to turn the brightness up or down. The switching electronics are obviously defective. However, I kept getting emails from them insisting on trying a second lamp. So the second lamp is actually worse than the first. The switch is so close to the base of the lamp that I have to turn it to see which button I'm pressing, rather than just laying it open on the countertop. It couldn't be easier to push the lamp into the socket. The switch is even less responsive than the first lamp. I just have to keep pressing the power button over and over again. However, the supplier did everything they could to get me to try the second lamp and improve my rating by offering 4.5-5.0. In fact, they teased me by insisting I take a second lamp. Now I have complied with her request. I can't honestly rate this lamp a 4-5, but I've upped the original from a two to a three. I just want to put this behind me. First review: When assembling the lamp, I was not able to fit the lamp body into the base myself. He was too small. After asking for support, they asked for a photo. (How can you take a photo where the body can't be pushed into the base?) My husband, a skilled person, had to use the strength of his manly hand to push it. He also needed the strength of his hands to adjust the height and position of the lamp - super stiff springs. Power control is problematic. Namely, it took a few presses of the power button to turn it on and off. You must look at the lamp to make sure it is off. Had to turn it off several times. I attribute the problems to inferior materials.
