I'm using this for an Arduino project to sync lights to sound. This allows me to capture different ranges of sound, allowing me to sync bass and treble separately. All in all, it's pretty easy to use. Sparkfun has sample code online that should get you started pretty quickly if you're familiar with software development. Ranges aren't as narrow as we'd like; there seems to be quite a bit of overlap. And the gain also seems to be slightly different on each band, which I was able to accommodate in my Arduino software. This is a great little tool. The complaints I've listed are relatively minor and it's a lot easier and quicker than trying to create your own high and low pass filters. I would buy it again if I had another sound related project.
