Review on White Sofa Arm Clip Table - Armrest Tray for Drinks, Remote Control, and Snacks Holder by Diane Beachem

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Small and wobbly on our couch.

We wanted to use this for my wife's morning tea and fruit bowl. There are no reference points in this item's catalog photo, so note that the finish is only 8-12x11-1/2 inches. Slightly larger than a sheet of laptop paper at center, tapering to 5 x 6 inches. along the edges by beveled corners. The clips that attach it to the couch armrest are spring-loaded and spaced a fixed 7-1/2 inches apart. If your sofa armrest is in the 4-5 inch range taller, like ours, the grip angle is so wide that just the bottom teeth (which are rounded, flat, and spaced apart like a hacksaw) will reach. difficult to hold the tray in a stable position. Even placing an empty bowl and cup on the surface made it slip. I wouldn't trust him with a steaming cup of coffee! With the exception of the clothespin-like springs, the structure is made entirely of 1/16 inch thick molded plastic. It seems to be enough to support the weight of anything that can fit on it. Also available in white. There are no instructions, but you can sign up for the "expert install" for an additional $68. I think if your sofa has wide armrests and not too much padding and your needs are more related to remote controls and glasses. and small pill bottles, this may be the most economical solution. Unfortunately it wasn't versatile enough to meet our needs, but Revain is very good at accepting returns if you want to try one of these.
