I bought 4 Dayton Audio SUB-1500s (highly recommend them btw. AMAZING value for money) and needed a way to get the LFE signal from my AVR to each of them get without any loss of performance. This was the most economical solution. I hear NO noise from the subs, EVER. There is no noticeable distortion unless you clip the inputs (tested on an old analog oscilloscope, so unfortunately no numbers). The star is docked because the inrush current is handled very poorly. Plugging the power supply into the switched outlets on the back of the AVR produces a very loud, obnoxious pop through the subwoofer when the output relay closes. This can damage the subwoofer but is not a problem if it is permanently connected to a power source. If you want to use switched outputs on your amp, there is a simple mod that will almost certainly solve your inrush current problem. Haven't tried it yet, but I think a decoupling capacitor connected in parallel to the DC input jack on the device will filter the junk out of the signal as it powers up. This will remove pops and possibly filter out noise in the output (if you used impure energy or something).
