Review on πŸ‘Ό Halo Early Walker Sleepsack Lightweight Knit Wearable Blanket, Blue, Large - TOG 0.5 by Whitney Bailey

Sweet. Our 15 month old uses a .

Cute Our 15 month old wore the fleece version all fall and winter - it was the best! As the weather was warmer, I opted for a sleeping bag in the same style made from lightweight fabric. It's not cotton; This is a thin polyester jersey (0.5 TOG). Halo only offers 100% cotton in a legless bag, so this is our only option when leg openings are needed. There are other brands that offer this in cotton but we chose this one because the quality is still high, it closes top to bottom (no spiky chins) and it's a lot cheaper than other cotton brands. We also need leg openings because we travel a lot, and these pockets allow us to buckle baby securely in the car seat while we're putting them on and put them to bed when we get home. Yes, the bag is big, but after getting over the first shock you will see that it will be perfect. When the child is lying straight, the legs should be fully in the pouch area. We have a large one for our 15 month old, about 6 inches from his feet to his crotch. It's perfect so we can use it in the spring and hopefully last until next fall. If I want him to walk, we'll pull his legs out. (If the leg cuffs are too big/wide and your feet keep falling back, just take a needle and thread and sew a vertical line down the cuff to make it thinner. And remove the threads if that child is older. No one will pay attention to the aesthetics as it is only for sleeping). Don't let the material distract you. We ourselves use fluffy fleece blankets, sweatshirts etc. Fleece is polyester. Why is this a problem for a baby blanket? They keep us warm in cold weather and the baby doesn't overheat unless you use it in hot weather (in which case we don't use a blanket at all).

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • Embarrassing
