I'm an IT professional. This switch is the perfect solution for my SOHO customers who want to evenly distribute ALL the functionality of a USB all-in-one printer/scanner/fax/copier to two separate computers that are within 20 feet of each other. Many all-in-one printers do not have an internal Ethernet card, allowing other network users equal access to all printer/scanner/fax/copier functions. Thus, when setting up a multifunction printer via USB, only one host computer has access to all printer functions, while other users on the network have ONLY the print function (not the scan function). This Iogear 2-TO-1 switch allows two computers to independently (not simultaneously) access all the features of the all-in-one. Iogear is plug and play and literally sets itself up in the time it takes you to plug in the cables. If you're using a keyswitch on your device, you don't even need to install the bundled software utility on the CD that lets you switch keyboard shortcuts. My only concern is that I wish the Iogear device came with two USB cables instead of one USB cable. I've always liked the quality of Iogear products and this device is a winner.
