I used this to filter out some particles from a batch of mead to which I added some tea and other minor flavors. The sieve on the funnel is well filtered and easily removes large pieces. The rest of the particles should settle out and it should be a good batch. The funnel is good and strong, does not bend or buckle. The neck is a good size to allow for flow and the overall funnel isn't too big to be uncomfortable on the can. I'd say it's a bad funnel if you're worried about oxygen getting into the mead. I didn't worry about adding oxygen as the fermentation was still in its early stages. I have no doubt I will be using this for things like sifting meat liquids for gravy or something like that. I'll see how it handles the heat, but it won't be long.
