Here's EVERYTHING you need to know. After receiving the bean bag chair, it took me about 20-30 minutes to separate the inner memory foam. Afterwards I noticed a strong smell because it is not CERTI-PUR US foam. The smell was mostly gone after the first 48 hours, but that doesn't mean there's still no gas. I was disappointed for the first 24 hours because it still looked pretty flat. After a week it looked completely filled and I was satisfied. It is best to turn it a quarter turn each time you sit in it. So over the next month I noticed that every time I lay in it for a while I would get up and notice breathing difficulties and realize it was the chemicals in the lower quality foam they were using. So if you have asthma, a sensitive respiratory system, maybe allergies or just really worried about air quality I wouldn't do it - otherwise this is a very handy and LARGE bean bag.
