Comfortable shoes! Looks good!

After reading mixed reviews I was hesitant to buy these shoes. However, since the return was free, I decided to give it a try. Here's what I can share and hopefully be helpful: I bought a regular "wide" (C/D) shoe. These shoes are wide enough for my slightly swollen feet and compensate for the slight deformity of my right foot which makes it wider than the left. However, my custom orthotic doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the shoe, but pushes out the elastic side of the shoe a bit but stays in place, comfortable and stable where it sits. I suspect it will eventually rub the spot through the side of the shoe but at this price point they will still last long enough to pay off. Next time I would choose 2E width, but that's okay. The depth is pretty good. If you have custom orthotics and you remove the one that came with your shoes, you're fine. Slightly thinner than my Dr Comfort pair but ok. The size is the same as Dr. Comfort, so I assume all diabetic shoes fit the same, which to me is a size larger than "sold out" shoes at Walmart or Purpose. These shoes are comfortable. However, they don't have much support. The sides are very soft - think "thick lace-up socks" rather than "diabetic shoes". There's no usual awkwardness there. I couldn't wear these shoes to work; they are not made for that. They are also not suitable for those with ankle problems. My foot issues are treated with orthotics so they seem great for commuting and carrying around the house!

Pros
  • fingers crossed
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
