This case was definitely a good alternative to my old one which cracked after a few years of use. If you don't like the screen protector, you can remove it. Adhesive to put on or take off at will. I've also found that the touchscreen is easier to use (and generally stays cleaner) if you place a screen protector directly on the phone's screen rather than attaching it to a case. Technically, this may put your screen at "greater risk," but it's definitely better than removing the screen protector entirely.
