Review on Sanus Advanced Tilt Premium Mount by Ronald Dimatulac

Wow what a difference. First, there is a large gaping hole in the wall mount for cords. A clear plus. I regret using this hole (in hindsight) with my big TV, but oh well. The bottom line is that even with the gaping hole on the SANUS mount, the mount itself is VERY strong. You have designed it very well. I used to like Videosecu brand mounts, which were cheap and pretty good. The design of VS is such that you get 2 pieces and you have to put them together to make a complete bracket. Sanus is a solid piece. I didn't use a template, but I was pleased (and probably should have) that they sent a life-size cardboard template instead of a thin piece of paper. The holes were already made to fit the bracket so I didn't have to punch them. I also like that it has minimal left to right tilt. The TV is quite large and the swivel bracket that can only be rotated left or right seems overdone. We don't need a 45 degree twist, a slight 15 degree twist will do. The scissor mount on each side was a great idea, everything feels very solid. My TV has 600mm wide brackets so some of the bracket is on the other side of my anchor bolts but I'm sure the quality of this bracket will hold it up well. Allen key levelers on top were a good idea. My mount is perfectly level, but the TV itself wasn't level, so I was able to adjust it with the allen wrenches on top. I know these braces are a bit pricey but trust me they are worth it. I didn't use the height tool because there was already a hole in my wall that I was trying to place in the center of this bracket, so that dictated the height of the TV. The center markers on the mount itself were a nice touch. Wow. I can't believe I didn't know about these mounts before. The Sanus team seems to have thought of everything you could possibly need, right down to knobs for removing the TV from the bracket, knobs that can be easily rotated to loosen it - no fancy built in 'wrenches' made of plastic anymore that you need to push and pull.
