This bag was ordered on January 25, 2019 to replace a stolen bag. At the end of March the velcro started to tear, today is April 22nd and at DIA the velcro came loose from the seam. I travel every week and put it in the big bag at the airport before checking the big bag and again when I leave the airport. My previous bag had a very similar strap which I used exactly the same, it was used 1 year before it was stolen and it wasn't a problem. To be honest, I travel a lot and this brand was recommended to me by a friend who works as a flight attendant. I travel more than you. Overall I like the bag but it's very frustrating! Yes, it can probably be repaired. But the downtime associated with sending the device in for repair isn't as easy as it might seem. .
