Review on Thermaltake Motherboard Addressable Universal CL P064 AL12SW by Michael Hudson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Installed this 4 pin fan (Part# CLP0556-B) on an HP Intel I7-6700T LGA 5100 in just 5 minutes

) This is one of several options you can choose from at the view can select the display. Please read the following information carefully as it can save you time and money. I hope that the photos I have provided will make the installation more understandable. My computer is an HP 510-p114 that was put into operation on November 21st, 2016, i.e. it has been in use for almost 3 years. This CPU fan was a perfect match for my Hamar MOBO with LGA 5100 socket. It comes with an adapter bracket which I didn't need to attach directly to my MOBOI with an Intel I7-6700T CPU chipset and (blue screen) HP error code 90B (CPU fan problem) kept popping up on reboot. I came to Revain looking for a replacement and found this one. In Photo 1 you can see the OEM fan next to the new Thermaltake CLP0556-B, the 4-pin version my PC was designed for. You will find that the location and dimensions of the fasteners are the same as OEM. This CPU fan is taller and has more mass to dissipate heat. You need to make sure you have enough vertical clearance to accommodate the increased height. Also of note is that the new CPU fan comes pre-coated with a layer of thermal grease and is covered with a clear plastic bubble that needs to be removed prior to installation. Photo 2 shows the Thermaltake CLP0556 installed in my device. It took exactly 5 minutes to remove the old fan, clean the existing thermal paste from the CPU and install the new CPU fan. In photo 3 you can see the cleaned/prepared processor and its nomenclature. In photo 4 you can see the details of the product. as written on the box. It clearly states that this product has an expected lifespan of 30,000 hours which is around 3 1/2 years if like me you run constantly. I strongly recommend that you keep an eye on this lifetime so that you can replace the CPU fan in advance before it reaches its end of life. After the installation, I restarted immediately and the PC became noticeably faster. I don't have a CPU fan monitoring app like some people, but I'm pretty sure the OEM fan was running low since I noticed a drop in performance about a week before the 90B error code appeared. As a general tip for everyone, it is recommended to regularly open the case and blow out all fans with compressed air, as dust collects there, which negatively affects the longevity of the device. This product 5 stars for excellent fit and easy installation. This vendor could have done much better to make it clear that this display is intended for more than one CPU fanatic. I hope that the information I have shared with you here will help you find a successful solution.
