Review on Carburetor 1995 1998 2001 2008 Sportsman 1999 2009 by Ken Desens

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor Workmanship for Motorcycles and Powersports

Bowl cover and membrane screws were over tightened making access difficult without damaging the screws. One of the heads of the Phillips screws on the membrane cap was torn right out of the box, see photo. I had to cut a groove in it and use an impact wrench to loosen it. I also had to use an impact wrench on the remaining screws to avoid damaging them. The idle screw was turned out 3 turns which is not a problem but does indicate an adjustment needs to be made to gain access to the needle jet and enrichment valve. After I made all the adjustments, the carburetor works very well.
