They are a great replacement for standard bulbs, I'm sure they are brighter than most standard bulbs. However, I am replacing a pair of 5 year old VLED VX3GEN2 5500K bulbs which were twice the price and gave 2800 lumens. They certainly have a smaller body and are easy to insert, but the wedge plastic holding the lamp isn't set at the right angle and the set screw holding the plastic to the body was over tightened and stripped the threads. Aluminum casing. For now it looks like it will stay in, but I'll probably have to cover the screw with Loctite and carefully screw it back in.
