Keep looking - this is not the kit you are looking for

Overall this product is pretty terrible. First let me say that this might be a solution for some people. If you need to change locks on multiple doors, aren't concerned about security, don't want to spend more than $12, and have plenty of free time, this can help. Otherwise look elsewhere. Here are the problems: 1) As mentioned, the wrench that comes with the kit is very easy to grab even for the novice assembler. 2) Again, as others have pointed out, many if not all of these sets use the same key. This means that the key that comes with my set is most likely the same as yours, so our keys will open each other's houses. As further proof, the video instructions on the manufacturer's website have the same key as in my kit. 3) There were no instructions in my kit so I had to search the internet for videos. In my case, a latch becomes useless. 5) The tools supplied with the kit, tweezers and a pusher, are flimsy plastic and broke after changing keys to three locks. set to. You cannot recode your locks with a key you already have. Here's my advice: if you're willing to replace the lock yourself, good for you. It's actually not that difficult and you can make a lot of money if you do it yourself. Instead of buying this kit, order the official small rekey kit from Schlage for about $60. The quality is much better, you can recreate dozens of locks and it's still much cheaper than a locksmith. Also, you can change the key to whatever key you have on hand.
