I have used this to stain paper with tea for unwanted journals leaving a lace print on the paper . They worked great. I use hot coffee and hot tea. They stayed the way they came. I will be able to use them indefinitely. I just rinsed them out and can't tell you about the coloring because I'll be using them again for the same thing and I don't care.
