My finisher's previous collar was nylon with a plastic buckle. I suspect it slipped off one day and our young spaniel chewed through the buckle's teeth, rendering her mate's collar useless. This time I opted for a leather collar, hoping that it wouldn't be too thin so it would wear out quickly, or too thick and cut our Pomeranian's neck. This collar is perfect! It is thick and forms a smooth roll along its length so that when she moves her neck, the collar moves with it, rather than digging into her neck. Initially I found the cost high but after looking at the collar and comparing what I can get for less this collar is well worth the extra bucks.
