Performance drops off quickly

Good design, excellent sound quality, very poor performance. These headphones looked great on arrival and the sound quality was fantastic. I use this almost exclusively with a Samsung Galaxy S7 with Otterbox case and occasionally with a laptop. When not in use I have made sure to store them properly so they don't get tangled and prolong their lifespan. However, over the next three months, a lot of problems arose: 1) Stock foils are VERY easy to remove. I understand that Sennheiser prides itself on being a "quality" company in terms of sound quality and design, but these earbuds are terrible. A brush with a shirt with a little effort will rip them off in an instant. Taking them out of their pockets is a surefire guarantee of rustling in your pockets and praying that the spikes don't fall to the ground and disappear when you remove the headphones. I ended up replacing the ear tips with some of the extra ear tips that came with some Hussar wireless headphones and they fit perfectly. Disappointing. 2) It's almost impossible to use this with a case. One would expect there to be adequate space between the jack connector and the case, especially when the case is intentionally cut around the headphone jack to avoid this issue, but the jack connector design was rubbish here. Instead of the standard straight plug like almost all other headphones, it uses an L-shaped plug that has a gap so small that it will catch on the case and pop out every time the plug is twisted or moved. Incredibly annoying as it happens with walking, biking, exercising, just moving around in general. 3) Today is May 15th, so it's been almost 3 months since I bought it. and now the left earbud refuses to play sound anymore. I tested the headphones on multiple platforms (laptop, phone, desktop, ipod) to make sure the issue is with the headphones and not the headphone jack on my phone. I hear the right earbud audio quality deteriorate daily and I expect them to die any day now too. Surprisingly, despite all the performance issues, the earbuds appear to be in pretty good shape, leading me to believe the poor performance is due to quality control. I owned a pair of Sennheiser CX 300 II Precision headphones before purchasing this particular product and have not had a single issue with them for almost 2 years despite accidentally putting them in the washer/dryer a number of times. I would buy them again, but I highly recommend staying away from this particular model. I would give no stars if possible.
