Personally, I'm not a big fan of the glass hob. However, as tenants, we inherited a damaged hob with broken glass. For safety and aesthetic reasons we decided to replace it. This block was just what we needed. It perfectly fits the dimensions of the outgoing hob. It was easy to install and my husband, who is not a pro at this sort of thing, completed the process in under an hour. Each of the heating elements seems to heat up fairly quickly. In addition, each has a different function than just cooking. These include quick cook, keep warm, and melt settings. Due to cooking season, I'm looking forward to trying them all. It also came with a scraper, hob cleaner and cleaning pad, which were unexpected but welcome additions. We ordered this unit the same day and it was delivered the next day.
