I have tried various commercial pellets for our Cat Genie and they are much better. However, if you don't run your feline spirit at least once a day, you may need a stick or utensil to break up the loosened glob of mucus that has accumulated in the hopper in the meantime. It literally takes 10 seconds to remove the lid, shake the funnel and put the lid back on. Most likely, if your Genie runs at least once a day, you won't have any problems. But I will stick with this brand in the future. Alternatively, you can search the web for CatGenie bypass chips/boards so you don't have to use their expensive cleaners.
