You get what you pay for. The only downside I've encountered is the flickering noise made by the internal mechanism that pulses the laser beam; it can drive you crazy After a while, my mind naturally got used to it and I hardly notice it anymore. While the construction doesn't appear too "solid," it's solid enough for what it's supposed to do and I haven't had any issues with functionality.
